Trevi fountain
I stood in front of the trevi fountain and knew I had to draw it. This large scale charcoal sketch was created entirely by hand from photographs taken during my own journey through Italy.
The quiet crossing.
He had ferried a thousand strangers across these waters. Listened to their laughter. Their arguments. Their whispered confessions. All of it absorbed by the canal like everything else. Gone by morning. He knew every face that passed through this city. And not one of them knew his. That is the particular loneliness of a man who carries everyone and is carried by no one.
The storm on the Sea of Galilee

The shroud of mystery surrounding this painting's disappearance and its incredible beauty were the reasons I wanted to do my own attempt at reenacting it.
